I want to pay you using cash, check or credit card number. I don’t want to use PayPal. Can I send you a check?

That’s too bad, because I am a poor programmer and the AudioCD.com site doesn’t generate enough business to justify paying for credit card processing. Maybe someday I’ll be big enough.
You can contact Erica by email and she might agree to take a check, but don’t piss her off. I have to live with her.

How do I make money with AudioCD.com?

AudioCD.com has free and pay downloads. An author must give potential buyers a taste of what they are getting by providing at least one one free story. This also encourages browsing by readers and hopefully will keep them coming back until they buy. Many web surfers will simply suck up any free stuff that they can get. There may be no chance that they will every pay for a story, but if they keep coming back they will eventually shell out 99 cents for something.

How much money can I make at AudioCD.com?

I don't know. How good are your chops? Will you make a reputation for yourself? There is no guarantee that you will make any money. AudioCD.com is new and has no track record. This is as new to me as it is to you.

How much do I make per story?

Authors make 40 cents per paid download. Freebies don’t make you any money.

How do you pay?

I send the money out through PayPal.com. If you don’t have a PayPal account, I keep the money and spend it on beer.

Why do you need my social security number?

I send out a 1099-misc form at the end of the year if you make any money. Uncle Sam wants to know if you make any money.

What if I don’t want to send you a social security number or I live in another country and I don’t have a social security number?

You get nothing from me unless I receive a social security number that I can confirm. If you don’t send me a social security number, I keep the money and spend it on beer.

I think your site sucks. I don’t make any money. Can I take my song down?

Of course. It you are not happy you can take your business elsewhere. Email me and I’ll remove the story. I am working on making this a user function on your profile page so you don't have to bother me.

I have a story, but I want it professionally read. Can you find me a reader?

No, but I have set up a section in the discussion group where readers and authors can meet up. You have to make your own deals. Don’t pay any money in advance.

I have written some beautiful poetry, can I submit the audio versions.

Yes, as long as it is longer that 5 minutes of readings. A collection of poems is fine.

I have produced a Play. Can I submit the audio version?

Maybe. I am not taking stories with multiple readers yet.

I have some cool erotic readings. Can I sell them?

No XXX at this time, but romance or mild erotica might be considered. Don't send me anything that your mother would complain about. Kids use this site.

I have a longer story can I get more money for it?

No. I try to keep story length to around ½ hour. I don’t want serialized work right now.

Can I put my band’s music on your site?

No. No music unless you are my brother and you have a blues band. I would like music instructional tracks, though. I will be placing my own Harmonica Lessons for sale.
